i can honestly say that this movie really shows the talents of greer, but since she had to look like eleanor roosevelt, they put a lot of makeup on her and made her look completely different. the makeup people always did a band up jib making sure she was always drop dead gorgeous in all her other movies, but in this one, she looked....well.....like eleanor roosevelt.she was still beautiful though, and always did. The story of Franklin Roosevelt's (Ralph Bellamy) bout with polio at age 40 in 1921 and how his family (and especially wife Eleanor - Greer) cope with his illness. From being stricken while vacationing at Campobello to his triumphant nominating speech for Al Smith's presidency in 1924, the story follows the various influences on his life and his determination to recover - based on the award winning Broadway play of the same name.
