hey dahling!! they have arrived in the mail!! im so happy. i have listened to a couple of them. there is one with her on the jimmy durante show. they are too funny together. peggy lee also is a guest on it. its cool to hear greer talking girl talk with peggy and jimmy in the background trying to cathc their attention. heehee! they all sing on it too!!
there are i think 16 shows and movies broadcasted on the radio. the african queen she did with bogie is absolutely wonderful. who couldve thought she would do a great job being an evangelist.

I also got this set on eBay, but I "Bought It Now", which probably costs more.
A few weeks later it was up on eBay again. I guess this guy makes a living copying and selling those same 11 CDs over and over again.
Anyway, my favourites are the following. I haven't heard most of the CDs yet, but I've heard the following ones at least 50 times each.
"Goodbye, Mr. Chips" -- Fabulous compression and reorganization of the movie.
"Berkeley Square" - Always great to hear Ronnie with Greer.
"The African Queen" - I can't get enough of this one. In my fantasy world, Greer stars in the movie in 1951.

the african queen is one of my favs too on those discs. only in my dream world would greer be in the movie version of it. i honestly didnt think she would make a good spinster, but when i heard it for the first time, i was literally shocked at how good she did. that tells you how versatile she was. i love it!!
i also love those other one, but i loooove the jimmy durante show she was on along with peggy lee. that one made me laugh so hard. i love jimmy. heehee! and then i got to hear greer sing with jimmy atthe end of the show too!!!!!!!

The 16 CD set has just been re-listed on Ebay today. There is also a single CD listed of "My Favorite Wife" which Greer did with her then husband Richard Ney. It's worth getting, as it is not only a charming story (the original was with Irene Dunne and Cary Grant), but it's interesting to hear her deliver several "sultry" lines to her husband.

i know, that radio version with greer and richard ney is also very cute and worth listening too, but i dont like richard ney b/c of what he did to greer in real life. i only like him in mrs. miniver. i also lovethe movie version of my favorite wife. irene dunne and cary grant are a smashing couple.
