i think ive seen this one like 4 dozen times. heehee, but thats only because they work so gracefully together, and its SUCH a great story! i have heard people remark on their age differences, but i choose to shut my little ears, because there are plenty of other movies to pick on about age difference.
this is a heavy drama with plenty of romance and a very triumphant cast. gladys cooper, is also in this one as the mother of gregory peck, and as his father is donald crisp. as greer's father is lionel barrymore in his wheel chair making trouble for everyone, of course hes quite swell at it. heehee! marsha hunt, another one in a few greer movies, plays gregory's younger sister who befriends greer. then there is a very young jessica tandy as the mean girl who wants gregory all to herself, her and her selfish, mean ways get her nowhere.
greer comes into their home as a maid to their service, but she falls in love with the whole family and they become wuite attatched to her too. her and gregory want to get married, but there are problems that would occur if this were to happen. so how does this movie end? figure it out yourself! heehee!

this is one of my favorite dramatic movies, not to mention romantic sappy movies. i love gregory peck and when i found out he did this movie with greer i went off the deep end. yay! they both did a good job with this movie and wish they did more together. i hope you enjoy this movie again grobanite after all those years of not seeing it. remember to tell us what you think of it.

In Valley of Decision, Greer and Gregory Peck have wonderful chemistry together. In an interview, Peck mentioned his favorite actresses he worked with. Greer was one of the three. They became good friends and he was a frequent guest at her ranch in New Mexico.

thanks rusty! they are exquisite!!!
i love that quote he said about her during the making of the movie...or right after they finished.
"her face was like a luminous moon floating in the canter of the screen, and i was the rather dim figure in the shadow" or something like that. im just quoting my memory heehee! i thought that was so cute!! i would love to have been there! it seems she became great friends with most of the people she worked with. that is totally awesome!

We had a picture here recently of Greer with Gladys Cooper, behind the scenes. Gladys specialized in playing cranky old women. She was just horrible in "Now, Voyager" and "Separate tables", but made up for it by her niceness in "The Valley of Decision". Now check out THIS pic!

Gladys was also in "My Fair Lady" as Rex Harrison's mother.
She wrote an AUTOBIO?!?! If I see it on eBay, don't waste your time, because I'm bidding $1,000!
