This photo was taken a MGM's 25 Anniversary luncheon in 1949 in which all stars and MGM personnel were present. She was filming That Forsyte Woman at the time (that's why she's in costume). Greer was chosen to present Louis with an award. We have all read that she was Mayer's favorite. Is there any doubt. Just look at the way he's looking at her. One picture is worth a thousand words.

Another beautiful photo taken at the Hollywood Canteen in 1943. I'll bet those soldiers never forgot being served dinner by Greer.

In both the the (fabulous) pictures above in which she is serving soldiers/sailors at the Hollywood Canteen, she appears to be holding a writing instrument in her right hand.
So I guess she was right-handed.
And was she holding that pen/pencil because of constant requests for autographs do you think?
